Holidays in the Cannon household always meant one thing: we got dressed up. We would start planning our outfits weeks in advance, and even my dad would swap his usual casual wear for something a bit more special. That tradition stuck with me, and I love any reason to get dressed up. (Truth be told, I’ve never needed much convincing to put together a cute outfit!) Thanksgiving, Christmas, even just a fun brunch—they’re all fair game for pulling out something festive and fun. I’m especially excited for this holiday season, because I’ll be using my seasonal color analysis expertise to plan my looks - and looks for my clients as well!

This year, I’ve put together four Thanksgiving looks, each one tailored to a different seasonal color palette. If you’ve been following along with my seasonal color analysis journey on Instagram, you’ve seen how transformative it can be to dress in colors that naturally harmonize with your coloring. For me, it’s been the difference between feeling good sometimes and feeling great all the time. Here’s how to make each home season palette work for Turkey Day.

True Autumn

A true autumn look

SHOP THIS LOOK:

Autumns, this is your time to shine! Your palettes thrive on warmth and richness. Think golden undertones, earthy depth, and colors that feel like they’ve been pulled straight from a harvest table. This look leans into those signature warm tones - you know, the kind that make your skin glow and your features come alive. A camel coat brings that bronzey warmth that Autumns wear so well, while a chartreuse top adds just the right amount of saturated color without crossing into cool territory. Everything here has a golden base, from the accessories down to the shoes, which is exactly what makes the Autumn palette sing. If you’re a True Autumn, you already know that warm metallics and amber tones are your best friends.

True Winter

Winters are all about clarity and contrast. This palette loves bold, cool-toned colors with sharp definition. There is nothing soft or muted here. The electric blue coat is the star of this look, and it’s exactly the kind of saturated, icy-bright hue that Winters can pull off effortlessly. Paired with black and white, the contrast is striking without being overwhelming. Silver jewelry keeps everything in that cool, crisp zone, while plaid trousers add visual interest without muddying the overall effect. For Winters, high contrast and cool undertones create that polished, commanding presence.

True Summer

Summers are soft, cool, and elegant. This palette is all about gentle, muted tones with a cool undertone running through everything. The mauve coat in this look is quintessentially Summer with that dusty, slightly greyed quality that keeps it from feeling too bright or harsh. The neutral cardigan and cream skirt provide a soft backdrop, while the snakeskin boots add texture without competing for attention. Everything here blends harmoniously because Summers look best when colors flow together rather than clash. The mixed metals in the jewelry work because they’re not competing—they’re just adding subtle dimension to an already refined palette.

True Spring

Springs are bright, warm, and clear. This palette loves vivid colors with yellow undertones. Think fresh, lively, and optimistic. This multicolor plaid coat is a perfect Spring piece because it brings together warm tones in a way that feels playful and energetic (and is at the top of my personal Christmas wish list!). The coral-red sweater adds that warm pop of color Springs wear so well, while the burgundy leather skirt grounds the look with its warm, rich tone. Everything here has that golden warmth running through it, and the result is vibrant without being overwhelming. Springs can handle bold color combinations because their natural coloring has that same brightness and clarity.

No matter which palette you fall into, the key to a great Thanksgiving outfit is wearing colors that feel like they belong on you, not like you’re wearing a costume. When you dress in your season, everything just clicks. You look polished without trying too hard, and you get to enjoy the holiday without constantly adjusting or second-guessing your outfit.

Show up glowing in your best colors and give your relatives something to talk about besides politics!
