If you caught last week's press roundup, you know that early 2025 treated us very well, and I’m happy to share that the summer was just as spectacular!
InRegister put our clients’ home renovation on their May cover, which was a huge moment of celebration! Architectural Digest included one of our projects in their small kitchen roundup. And Veranda asked me not once but twice to weigh in on design decisions, from paint mistakes to fancy features that aren't worth the investment.
These pieces let me discuss projects I loved working on and share design opinions with a bigger audience. (Ask me about my thoughts on steam showers sometime. Actually, you don't have to ask. I'll tell you anyway.)
Here's where RCL Interiors was featured from May through July 2025. Links to the full features are below!

This family originally came to us wanting to open up their kitchen, and the project evolved into a full home renovation that included converting their attic into a second story and creating a mother-in-law suite.
We transformed their home into a space that works for their energetic, busy lifestyle, including constant entertaining. The kitchen has deep-blue cabinets with a library ladder to reach the highest shelves, a handcrafted La Cornue range, and a butler's pantry with a ceiling papered with the thinnest wood veneer inlaid with silver strips.
Every room now has show-stopping details, from statement wallpaper in the dining room to the doggie shower in the laundry room for their goldendoodles. The family moved in on a Thursday and hosted a baby shower two days later, which tells you everything you need to know about our process and their lifestyle.

In addition to making their home the May cover story, InRegister also featured this same client’s mother-in-law suite separately, diving into how we used lavender from walls to trim to ceiling to create an incredibly restful space. Drenching a room in a single color eliminates harsh contrasts, which is what makes it feel so calm.
We used an analogous color scheme of lavender, pale blue, and celadon because these cool colors are naturally restful. The textures add interest without disrupting the serenity. I like balancing smooth and rough, so the headboard adds a natural element while the bedding stays crisp and cool.
The windows in this room were actually a happy accident. They'd been measured incorrectly for a guest bedroom on the opposite side of the house, and we were able to repurpose them here. Sometimes things going wrong lead to something better than you imagined!

Architectural Digest, 61 Small Kitchen Ideas That Make the Most of a Tiny Space
Architectural Digest included our suggestion to consider a mirror backsplash in their roundup of small kitchens. It's one of those solutions that makes a space feel larger without requiring actual square footage, which is exactly what small kitchens need.
Veranda asked me about design features that sound luxurious but aren't worth the investment, and I had thoughts. Specifically about steam showers, which can cost $10,000 to $25,000 more than a standard shower.
The complex systems include generators, specialized plumbing, and vapor-tight enclosures that are prone to mold, mechanical issues, and leaks that can damage surrounding areas. I’d prefer that $15,000 in savings go toward beautiful tiles, a soaking tub, or elegant vanities that provide daily enjoyment without the maintenance headaches.

There's something incredibly validating about having your work recognized beyond your local market. When Italian publication Ouvert Magazine reached out to feature our design philosophy and client work, I was both honored and excited to share our approach with an international audience.
The article, titled "Interior Design & Mindful Living," explores how we craft spaces that support people's work, relationships, and inner selves with flexibility, warmth, and intention. What struck me most about this feature was how our design philosophy translates across cultures. The human need for spaces that truly support our lives is universal, whether you're in Baton Rouge or Milan.
Mobile Bay Magazine, Coastal Design Inspiration From the Pros
In a perfect ode to summer, Mobile Bay Magazine featured our client's Fairhope home in their coastal design inspiration roundup. The coastal grandmother aesthetic works just as well in interiors as it does in fashion, and this project proved it.

The third time is truly a charm with this project! InRegister circled back to our clients’ kitchen renovation, specifically highlighting how the bold blue color carries from the cabinetry onto the custom hood. It makes the space look clean while being anything but ordinary.
You know I love color, and when Veranda asked me about paint mistakes, I was all too happy to share with them the importance of testing colors with your actual home lighting. "Daylight" LEDs can turn your perfect hue into something that looks like it belongs in a morgue. What looks like "Warm Cashmere" in the showroom might become "Cold Regret" under the wrong bulbs. Always test paint samples under your actual lighting before committing.
