Why August Is the Most Underrated Month for a Home Refresh

Nobody talks about August the way they talk about September. September gets the mood boards, the candle launches, and the "hello, fall" content. August just gets... humidity and back-to-school anxiety.
But here's what I've learned after years of designing homes and living in Louisiana: August is actually the best time to start refreshing your space. Not because fall is here (it very much is not), but because you're ready for it: mentally, emotionally, and aesthetically. You've had enough of summer, and you're ready for something to feel different, even if it's still 97 degrees outside.
The good news is that a home refresh doesn't have to require a renovation or a new furniture budget. It simply requires intention. And a few well-chosen pieces that do the transitional work for you.
