Rachel Cannon's Top Five Gifts for Her

I’ve been told on more than one occasion that I’m hard to shop for. I get it. I buy whatever I want most of the time, and I rarely tell anyone what I’m eyeing.

You probably know someone like me. She’s curated her entire life, from her morning coffee ritual to her evening skincare routine, and generic gifts just won't cut it. If you have someone in your life who fits that description, this journal entry is for you!

Here are five of my picks from my "For Her" guide that are things she'll actually use, love, and maybe even brag about. Each one has that perfect mix of thoughtful and unexpected that makes gift-giving feel less like an obligation and more like an art form.

1. 6AM Rose from Lancôme

6AM Rose from Lancôme

This isn't your grandmother's rose perfume (though she'd probably love it too). It's fresh and optimistic, like that first perfect morning of vacation when everything feels possible. The lily-of-the-valley keeps it from being too sweet, while the jasmine adds just enough sophistication.

Every time I wear this, someone asks what I'm wearing, which means I know I've found a winner. It's the kind of scent that makes you feel put-together even when you're running errands.

2. The New York Shoulder Bag from DeMellier

Sometimes a bag just gets it right. The shape is interesting without being impractical, the hardware is substantial without being heavy, and the size actually fits your life (phone, wallet, keys, lipstick, and that emergency granola bar). I am sad to say I missed out on getting the espresso crocodile, but I’m keeping it on my wishlist, just in case!

The elongated silhouette feels fresh but not trendy. This is the bag she'll reach for constantly and still love three years from now. Plus, those exaggerated handles make it easy to grab when you're juggling coffee and car keys.

3. Carabiner Square Spiga Necklace from Artizan Joyeria

Jewelry can be so predictable... delicate chains, tiny pendants, safe choices. This piece says something different. I absolutely LOVE mine, and it has helped many a lackluster outfit look very pulled together with very little effort.

The chunky stainless steel links have weight and presence, while the moving charms add personality without feeling juvenile. It's bold enough to elevate a simple sweater but refined enough for dinner reservations. This is for the woman who uses jewelry to punctuate her look, not whisper it.

4. Felice PJ Set from Damson Madder

Forget the tired "cozy pajamas" trope. These are what you want to be wearing when you're having morning coffee on the balcony of that boutique hotel, or just when you want to feel (and look) your best while spending a lazy Saturday morning at home.

The leopard print (my signature color!) with contrast trim walks that perfect line between playful and sophisticated. Made from lightweight cotton, they're actually comfortable enough to sleep in but chic enough that you won't mind being seen in them.

5. Larroudé Verona Flat in Shearling

Larroudé Verona Flat in Shearling

I discovered Larroudé last winter and immediately understood the hype. These flats are the elevated version of what we all really want to wear: slippers. The shearling lining keeps them warm without overheating, and the gold hardware makes them feel special rather than basic. They’re the kind of shoe you can wear to client meetings, holiday parties, or cross-country flights without regretting your choices halfway through the day.

I don’t own them yet, but they are at the top of my personal list this year. For women who refuse to choose between comfort and looking put together, these deliver on both.
